Procurement Hub has partnered with registered charity Furniture Resource Centre (FRC) and Buckingham Interiors to establish a new Furniture and Homeware Framework with a difference.
Providing OJEU complaint access to one of the UK’s largest suppliers, the framework also delivers social value, aimed at improving the lives of residents in need.
As one of the leading providers of contract standard furniture in the UK, FRC has supplied social housing landlords for nearly 30 years, delivering a one-stop-shop service specialising in furnished tenancies, Local Welfare Provision, and all types of shared living accommodation.
FRC also provides the sheltered, care and extra care markets, with its own product ranges including furniture, furnishings, appliances, floor and window coverings, and accessories, as well as a full interior design service with project management and a detailed consultation process as part of the package.
Contract quality and expert knowledge
All items are designed through a process of extensive consultation with Housing Association and Local Authority customers, specifically with the different environments serviced with in mind. They are tested and certified to British Standards for contract quality by the independent testing organisation FIRA, (Furniture Industry Research Association).
FRC is also an ISO9001 (2008) certified organisation with a quality management system covering all areas of business, from services and equipment, to facilities, people and training.
Procurement Hub in close collaboration with FRC, has worked to develop a service which meets all customers’ needs, from free delivery and installation, to developing bespoke ranges.
The aim is to give complete confidence in the suitability of the ranges available, and that they are certified to contract quality standards, complying with all the necessary Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations, as well as the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
Social Value at its heart
At Procurement Hub we understand that as our customers face major challenges such as policy changes and budget cuts, it is even more vital that social value is delivered through the supply chain. With this in mind, we created the Furniture and Homeware Framework with social value at its heart.
Funded entirely through contributions from the supply chain, the social value fund is equivalent to 1% of the turnover generated through the framework and can help make a real difference to the lives of residents.
