Procurement Hub have partnered with AO to launch our new Appliances Framework. AO, as rated by the 2019 Which? survey, is the highest-rated electrical retailer for customer service. Our new Appliances Framework allows our members to get the same service that 7 million AO customers already access. AO Business offers a team dedicated to housing, public sector and charitable customers, which when combined with their delivery fleet which operate in 98% of UK postcodes, 7 days a week, guarantees the best customer service.
They don’t stop there, AO Recycling operates Europe’s most sophisticated fridge and white goods recycling plant so they can take away and sustainably recycle old appliances. They are one of the UK’s biggest recyclers of fridges and other large domestic appliances. They make would-be waste great again, by turning these old appliances into valuable resources. AO take care of everything for customers on the day of delivery: from disconnecting old products, to unpacking & installing and recycling too. Their specialist fleet are fully trained to fit gas, electric and integrated appliances, as well as washing machines, dryers and dishwashers.
Social value is important to us at Procurement Hub and it’s the same at AO – it’s in their DNA. They are innovating to ensure customers have access to affordable appliances. In February 2019, they expanded their AO Rental housing association trial to let tenants rent a washing machine, fridge-freezer and/or cooker for £2 per week. They can cancel at any point and items will be replaced if they break down. The rental service is built on the belief that everybody should have access to reliable and quality appliances. AO are on a mission to make appliances more affordable than ever – without sky-high interest or hidden costs. They also have a long history of supporting communities in which they work and AO Smile provides targeted charitable donations to local community projects.
AO are keen to support housing and public sector clients in delivering social value whilst maintaining great customer service. All of their customer service staff undergo empathy training as part of their induction into the AO Business team, and they continue to build on this in line with the needs of their clients and customers. They are very aware of the pressures within the public sector, working closely with local authorities and Housing Associations, with teams devoted to working with sectors who support vulnerable families and individuals.
