We're incredibly proud to announce that our Giving Back initiative has reached a major milestone! Since its launch in 2020, we've donated over £1 million. This wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of our members and supply chain partners.
At Procurement Hub, we believe that our success is directly linked to the well-being of the communities we serve. That's why we established the Giving Back initiative – to partner with remarkable organisations aligned with the causes that matter most to our network.
Through careful selection and voting processes, we choose a new charity partner each quarter. This allows us to focus our resources and make a significant impact on a diverse range of causes.
Here are just a few of the fantastic charities we've supported:
"When a child is seriously ill and needs hospital care far away from home, a family's focus is to be by their child’s bedside, while they receive the treatment they desperately need. Ronald McDonald House Charities UK helps by providing a free safe and warm ‘home away from home’ just moments from the hospital treating their child. Together, families can take time to reflect on difficult decisions made and rest and re energise for the challenging days ahead. Without our Houses, families face an uncomfortable sleep on a hospital floor or restless nights in lonely waiting rooms. They lose precious time travelling miles to and from the hospital, incurring extra financial strains at an already financially difficult time. A huge thank you for such a generous donation and for helping us to keep families together and close to their critically ill child in hospital. Support from our Corporate Partners helps us to keep our lights on and our doors open to every family that needs us today, tomorrow and for many years to come." - Janet Pennington, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK
“We are very grateful to the team for their support. Last year food banks in the Trussell Trust network provided nearly 3 million emergency food parcels to people facing hardship, a record number. This is not right, everyone in the UK deserves to have enough money for essentials like food, clothing and heating. This support will help food banks within our network continue to provide the lifeline of emergency support for local people in crisis, while we work in the long term to end the need for food banks, for good. Thank you so much.” - Sophie Carre, Director of Public Engagement at The Trussell Trust
“A huge thank you to the team at Procurement Hub for their amazing donation of £18,964.77 through their Charity of the Month scheme. To offer our services to children and families across the region it costs us a huge £6m in 2023 – and with only 30% of that coming from any statutory sources, Procurement Hub’s donation is a huge step towards finding our remaining funding requirements. On behalf of all of our children and families we would like to thank everyone involved at Procurement Hub in what is a truly life changing amount of support they have shown us in recent years.” - Mick Croskery, Head of Income Generation at Derian House
“We are so grateful to the Places for People team at Procurement Hub for supporting Samaritans this year, as part of their Giving Back initiative. As we continue to live through uncertain times, Samaritans’ volunteers continue to be there to listen to anyone who is struggling to cope. Our vital services are in demand more than ever and this generous gift could help us fund 3,739 potentially life-saving calls for help!” - Sarah Scott, Corporate Partnerships Executive at Samaritans
"The funds raised by Places for People mean we can continue supporting people with sight loss in Preston and beyond – through providing information and advice, rehabilitation support and of course our life-changing dogs. For many people with sight loss, guide dogs are the key to a life of independence and freedom – something most people take for granted. Our guide dogs give people the confidence to get out and about safely, going wherever life takes them. There are 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK and this number is set to double by 2050. Every day, 250 people start to lose their sight in the UK. This is equivalent to one person every six minutes. Thank you to Procurement Hub for donating such an amazing amount to Guide Dogs, this donation will make an enormous difference to someone’s life. We can only provide our life-changing guide dogs with the support of donations and fundraising.” - Gemma Webster, Regional Marketing & Communications Manager (North West) at Guide Dogs
