We are proud to showcase our involvement in the Loftus Regeneration Masterplan for one of our members, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.
Procured through our Development Contractors DPS (Dynamic Purchasing System), this project demonstrates efficient procurement and a commitment to social value.
The overall vision was to transform Loftus into a modern market town with facilities and attractions for residents and a memorable destination for visitors.
The transformation includes a refurbishment of Duncan Place Community Hub to provide a modern and multi-use space, alongside revitalised areas for youth and family activities including a brand-new community hall.
The community centre for Loftus with WB Construction (Teesside) was awarded as the main construction contract to extend and refurbish the existing community space. The completed works resulted in a modern library with stunning park views and a brand new activity hall for sports and entertainment as well as upgraded facilities including new restrooms, office space, and meeting rooms.
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council set out a series of exciting new proposals to regenerate and improve Loftus. This included transforming Coronation Park from an underused public park into a vibrant, multi-functional space for residents and visitors. These works were carried out by another of the pre approved suppliers on our DPS, Seymour Civil Engineering. The project transformed the park into a vibrant space featuring improved accessibility with a tree lined boulevard connecting to the Duncan Place hub. New features like a natural play area were also included alongside an outdoor reading area, a multi-purpose events space and enhanced landscaping with new footpaths, ornamental railings, improved lighting and CCTV. The park also proves a commitment to sustainability with EV charging bays in the new car park.
This project goes beyond bricks and mortar. Procurement Hub is committed to social value, and the Loftus Regeneration Masterplan exemplified this commitment with local school involvement from students participating in park tours, Q&A sessions, and even decorated bird boxes to attract wildlife. The project is created to invest in the community with a lasting legacy for Loftus residents.
