Welcome to the team Philip, tell us about your role as Client Relationship Manager?
I’m excited to be joining the team as Client Relationship Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, where my primary focus will be connecting with our existing clients to ensure they derive value from their membership with us through the various procurement solutions we offer. Simultaneously, I'm eager to engage with new clients, delving into their world and effectively conveying how the innovative procurement solutions we offer can enhance and add value to their procurement processes. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of both our current and future members.
What did you do before joining the company?
I recently came from the tourism industry, where I worked in business development at VisitAberdeenshire. The main purpose of my role was securing new international and national conferences, exhibitions and events for the region, as well as actively marketing Aberdeen as a top business event destination. My responsibilities encompassed bidding for business events, collaborating with key partners, engaging with prospective clients and co-ordinating the Aberdeen Ambassador Network. The business development skills I refined in this role will enable me to connect and engage with members in Procurement Hub effectively, ensuring that our members are not only aware but also actively benefiting from the various procurement solutions we can provide.
What part of the job are you looking forward to the most?
I am most looking forward to interacting with the diverse range of clients. I enjoy connecting with people, both personally and professionally, and I look forward to fostering meaningful relationships in various professional settings going forward.
What are you enjoying most at Procurement Hub?
The people - they are the driving force behind the enjoyable atmosphere here. There is an open and collaborative culture at the Procurement Hub which makes the working environment here so positive.
When you're not at work, what do you like doing?
My wife and I enjoy exploring new food and drink spots and spending time outdoors together. Recently, we've taken up sea swimming/dipping in the North Sea as a hobby, but now that winter is approaching, the chilly waters will definitely be a test of our endurance.
Where's your happy place?
I relish taking moments to immerse myself in a good book, accompanied by a double espresso.
What’s your superpower?
I can consume vast amounts of coffee without ever caving into caffeine crashes. It's as if my body has built a fortress against the effects of caffeine.
Finally, Marmite. Love or hate?
Marmite and I have a love-hate relationship. I love to hate it and it hates that I love disliking it.
