New space for the Nursing and Midwifery Council | News | Procurement Hub

Transforming the office space of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Procured through the Major Projects Framework the office space at the Nursing and Midwifery Council has been transformed by framework partner Willmott Dixon. It’s the first WDI completed project under the Major Projects Framework.

Willmott Dixon Interiors (WDI) first engaged with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) in late 2018. WDI have successfully delivered the Cat B fit out of 21,744 sq ft which provides the NMC staff with an agile and collaborative workplace.

The project consisted of upgrading M&E services, bespoke joinery works as well as the creation of an amphitheatre, acoustic booths, kitchen spaces, prayer room, meeting rooms and reception area.

The new space offers NMC employees an open plan modern office space with multiple breakout spaces and new advanced technology. The project allows professionals to deliver both better and safer care.

A full social value plan is in place equating to 10% of the project value and delivering activities such as on-site events, visits to schools and work experience placements. The project also included supporting 3 apprentices in mechanical, electrical and joinery specialisms.

Head of Estates, David Power says:

"The Procurement Hub framework was a straight forward procurement process with clear gateways that led to a great new environment delivered on time and to budget by Willmott Dixon Interiors for my colleagues to work in."

Procurement Hub's Client Relationship Manger Clare Moore says:

"This has been an exciting project in conjunction with Willmott Dixon and our new client The Nursing and Midwifery Council. The new space is well designed bringing in open plan working as well as individual working booths, meeting spaces and open plan kitchen areas, catering for a modern work place.”
